Tory Cowles painted representational and worked in three dimensions - fine woodworking, stonewall building, carpentry, architectural design - all her life. 8 years ago she switched to abstract art and, for her, abstract involves all the aspects of both two and three dimensional art that most interests her. The compositions, textures, colors, shapes and lines and how they inter-relate play with issues of spontaneity versus discipline, boldness versus subtleties, and how one’s eye is drawn around the canvas. |
